here about the flow rate matching in video, I don't think it is a coincidence.

Since siphons work on the pressure differentials, my gut feel is that when the bottom

pipe (delivering to the main pipe) gets submerged, pressure differential reduces,

reducing the flow rates.

- since at the start the pipe is filling-up, meaning: inflow > outflow to turbine

- and once the pipe gets submerged to a level - the flow rate now matches the flow to the turbine

Simplest check would be to have the pipe of the siphon sit / end above the overflow pipe level (this should trigger an overflow)
